What is the Boarding Department?
In the production sequence, after the toe sections of the socks are stitched, the final stage before the finished appearance is the ironing (boarding) and packaging process. At this stage, the produced socks are ironed through a conveyor-based system and transferred to the packaging department.
In some sock manufacturing processes, if the socks are not subjected to washing or dyeing operations, they are transferred to the boarding department after toe stitching. In this department, ironing and packaging processes are completed, preparing the manufactured socks for shipment and transferring them to the warehouse dispatch section.
Washing
In Alkatek Socks’ washing department, 2 Levatek washing machines and 2 high-capacity wet washing, drying, and squeezing machines are used. During the washing process, all products are prepared for use after being treated to ensure antibacterial properties and dermatologically healthy sock production.
At Alkatek Socks, pre-washing can be applied to the socks we produce according to customer demands. In Lavatec machines, washing treatments with antibacterial applications (Sanitized, Aegis, Purista), Aloe Vera, silicone, and various essences can also be performed.
